Reflections in the water

Do you remember those paintings we did as children of  making butterflies on one side of the paper and then folding it and recreating a copy on the picture on the other side? Reflections in the water remind me of this but they are much more beautiful than the pictures I created!

The reflection changes as the water moves.

Or if still creates a perfect mirror image in the water.

The symmetry of this appealed to me.

Hope you are having a great week whatever you are doing.

  8. The top one also reminds me of the water marbling technique where you have a bath of water and put oily paint into it and swirl the colours around a bit then pull a sheet of paper across the top to get a pattern! Great pictures - were they all on different days as the water is quite different in each one?

    1. Now you have mention it, the first photo is like a water marbling technique isn't it. The first photo was taken on a different day to all the others.

  10. These images are beautiful Sarah. And I feel as if I'm right there. I can almost hear the lapping of the water against the harbour wall and that slap, slap of line against mast, and the seagulls calling. In fact I shall scroll back up and just take a few moments from a busy day to pretend I was there, and enjoying the fresh sea air :D
